Jodie Garcia

Originally from a family farm dating back to the 1870s, Jodie moved from Phillipsburg, Kansas, to Lawrence to attend the University of Kansas, where she graduated with degrees in journalism and Spanish.

Her career has included positions at The Ottawa Herald newspaper as a reporter, columnist and social media manager, as well as at a Lawrence law firm primarily working in immigration law as a legal assistant. During the pandemic, Jodie began a mid-century modern refurnishing/reselling business, which she continues to this day.

Jodie lives in Eudora with her husband, Luis, and teenage daughter, Camila, as well as their two cats. In her free time, she enjoys collecting mid-century modern furniture, gardening and scrapbooking.
