Liturgical Ministry

Members of Trinity share special gifts in the service of God's people gathered together for Worship in the Liturgy. These ministries are available to all members of Trinity. Training and education is provided for all who wish to use their talents to the community in these ways.

The Congregation

All of God's people gathered together in the place of Worship, to become symbolically unified as the Body of Christ, worshipping Christ, the Head of the Church.

Lector

One who proclaims the Word of God in the midst of the congregation.

Acolyte and Crucifer

Youth who assist in our worship through various ministries, including carrying various symbols in Worship.

Assisting Minister

A member of the congregation who assists both the Pastor and the congregation, leading the people in prayer during worship.

Cantor

A singer who proclaims God’s Word in song and who assists in leading the assembled people of God (the congregation) in song.  The cantor information page is available here.

Choir and Instrumental Music Ministries

The special gifts of musicians support the congregation in song, and offer additional music to inspire, sooth, and express the prayers of all in song.

Presider

Most commonly, the pastor of the church, presides at worship, gathering all of the prayers together, preaching and teaching the Word of God, and blessing the meal that is shared. The pastor provides spiritual leadership and guidance to the congregation, in partnership with staff and leaders from within the congregation.
